Premium Engineered
Quartz Countertops

The beauty of natural stone. The performance of modern engineering. StoneTech carries the world's leading engineered quartz brands — fabricated and installed in-house at our Medford, Oregon facility since 1991.

Non-porous. Stain-resistant. Low-maintenance. Available in hundreds of colours and patterns.

ENGINEERED QUARTZ

Engineered quartz countertops are manufactured from approximately 90–93% crushed natural quartz crystals — one of the hardest minerals on earth — bound together with polymer resins and pigments. The result is a surface that combines the authentic look and feel of natural stone with enhanced durability, consistency, and ease of maintenance.

Unlike natural stone, engineered quartz is non-porous — meaning it never needs sealing and resists stains, bacteria, and moisture far more effectively. StoneTech carries the world's leading quartz brands, each with their own distinct collections, technologies, and warranties.

WHY CHOOSE ENGINEERED QUARTZ?

Engineered quartz offers a unique combination of performance characteristics that make it the most popular countertop choice for modern kitchens and bathrooms.

Non-Porous

Unlike granite or marble, engineered quartz is non-porous — bacteria, liquids, and stains cannot penetrate the surface. No sealing ever required.

Extremely Durable

Made from 90–93% crushed quartz — one of the hardest minerals on earth — engineered quartz is highly resistant to scratches, chips, and daily wear.

Low Maintenance

Wipe clean with mild soap and water. No sealing, no special cleaners, no periodic treatments. Engineered quartz fits the pace of a busy household.

Consistent Colour

Every slab from the same collection looks virtually identical — ideal for large installations, matched surfaces, or commercial projects requiring uniformity.

CAESARSTONE

Engineered Quartz vs. Natural Stone — Which Is Right for You?

Both are excellent choices — the right one depends on your lifestyle, budget, and application.

  • Choose engineered quartz if you want consistent colour, zero maintenance, and a non-porous surface — ideal for busy kitchens and family households

  • Choose natural stone if you want a completely unique look, the character of a natural material, or superior heat resistance for outdoor applications

  • Our team will walk you through both options at no obligation during a showroom visit or free estimate consultation

Brand Comparison Guide

All five featured brands are premium engineered quartz. Here's how they compare on key factors to help narrow your choice.

Caring for ENGINEERED QUARTZ

Natural stone is built to last generations. A little routine care keeps it looking its best for decades.

No Sealing Required

Engineered quartz is non-porous and never requires sealing — one of its greatest advantages over natural stone. Soap and water is all you need for daily cleaning.

Avoid Extreme Heat

While quartz is heat-resistant, the resin binders can be damaged by sudden, intense heat. Always use trivets or hot pads for pots, pans, and heat-generating appliances directly from the stove or oven.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Do not use bleach, oven cleaners, or high alkaline products on quartz surfaces — they'll dull the finish over time. For tougher stains, a non-abrasive or glass cleaner works well.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What engineered quartz brands does StoneTech carry in Medford, Oregon?

StoneTech carries Caesarstone, Silestone, Hanstone, Viatera, Zodiaq-Contino, Cambria, MSI, Corian Quartz, Daltile, Arizona Tile, and Stratus Surfaces. Visit our Medford showroom at 1491 Burlcrest Drive to see samples in person and speak with our team.

What is engineered quartz made of?

Engineered quartz countertops are made from approximately 90–93% crushed natural quartz crystals — one of the hardest minerals on earth — bound together with polymer resins and pigments. The result is a non-porous, highly consistent surface that is more stain-resistant and lower-maintenance than most natural stone.

Is engineered quartz better than granite for kitchen countertops?

Both are excellent choices. Engineered quartz is non-porous, requires no sealing, and offers very consistent colour and pattern — ideal for low-maintenance kitchens and families. Granite is a natural material, each slab is completely unique, and it offers superior heat resistance. Quartz is generally considered better for stain resistance; granite may be preferred by those who value the character of a natural material and superior heat performance.

Does engineered quartz need to be sealed?

No. Engineered quartz is non-porous and does not require sealing — this is one of its key advantages over natural stone. Regular cleaning with mild soap and water is all that's needed to maintain its appearance and performance.

What is the difference between Caesarstone, Silestone, and Hanstone?

All three are premium engineered quartz brands made from approximately 90–93% natural quartz. Caesarstone is Israeli-made and offers one of the broadest design ranges with a lifetime limited warranty. Silestone is Spanish-made by Cosentino and uses HybriQ+ technology with a 25-year residential warranty. Hanstone is Korean-made by Hyundai L&C with among the highest quartz content at 93%. All three are available at StoneTech in Medford — our team can help you compare collections in person.

Can engineered quartz be used outdoors?

Most engineered quartz brands are not recommended for outdoor use. Prolonged UV exposure can cause discolouration and the resin binders may be affected by extreme temperature fluctuations. For outdoor kitchens in Southern Oregon, granite is our recommended alternative due to its hardness, UV resistance, and weather performance. Contact our team for specific brand guidance on outdoor applications.
