Caring for ENGINEERED QUARTZ
Natural stone is built to last generations. A little routine care keeps it looking its best for decades.
No Sealing Required
Engineered quartz is non-porous and never requires sealing — one of its greatest advantages over natural stone. Soap and water is all you need for daily cleaning.
Avoid Extreme Heat
While quartz is heat-resistant, the resin binders can be damaged by sudden, intense heat. Always use trivets or hot pads for pots, pans, and heat-generating appliances directly from the stove or oven.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Do not use bleach, oven cleaners, or high alkaline products on quartz surfaces — they'll dull the finish over time. For tougher stains, a non-abrasive or glass cleaner works well.

Granite is a natural material, each slab is completely unique, and it offers superior heat resistance. Quartz is generally considered better for stain resistance; granite may be preferred by those who value the character of a natural material and superior heat performance.
Does engineered quartz need to be sealed?

Can engineered quartz be used outdoors?
Most engineered quartz brands are not recommended for outdoor use. Prolonged UV exposure can cause discolouration and the resin binders may be affected by extreme temperature fluctuations. For outdoor kitchens in Southern Oregon, granite is our recommended alternative due to its hardness, UV resistance, and weather performance.
